William, Sr. Lee Thompson

Mar 18, 1941 – Jul 19, 2014

In loving memory our father, William “Billy” Lee Thompson Sr., who went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2014.  He was born on March 18, 1941, in Welch, West Virginia, to Mr. Andrew S. Thompson and Lucy (née: Burton) Thompson.

He was a loving dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He loved basketball, fishing, bingo, drawing, going to the racetrack, and the casino.

Billy leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters Essie M. Thompson Orlando, Florida, Willette (Shelton) Gore Davenport, Florida and three sons William L. Thompson Jr Racine, Wisconsin, Alvis (Leslie) Davis Racine, Wisconsin, and Donte Davis Racine, Wisconsin, 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; five sisters Ethel (Francis “Jinx”) Monroe Decatur, Georgia, Muriel (Willie) Washington Newark, New Jersey, Carroll Mosley Racine, Wisconsin Mary Jackson Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Janet Rice Charleston, West Virginia, one brother Roy (Barbara) Thompson Racine, Wisconsin and one sister in law Rose Mary Thompson Milwaukee, Wisconsin a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by both of his parents Andrew and Lucy Thompson, three brothers AJ Thompson, Roosevelt Thompson, and Andrew Milton Thompson and three sisters Mayretta, Louise, and Maggie Thompson.

A memorial celebration of Billy’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, 12:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Edward Mitchell officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service.
