Lawrence "Larry" M. Gorelik

Oct 22, 1952 – Mar 31, 2006

Racine- Lawrence M. Gorelik, 53, passed away at All Saints-St. Mary’s Medical Center on Friday, March 31, 2006. Born in Racine on October 22, 1952, Larry served our city as a paramedic with the Racine Fire Department for over 30 years, retiring as a Captain in 2004. Surviving are his wife, Traci; daughter, Marla Gorelik; son, Zachary Gorelik; dad and mom, Syl and Elaine Gorelik; his “three best friends” brothers, Jeff (Claudia) Gorelik and Bob Gorelik, and sister, Jacquie (Tom) Zanis; nieces and nephews, Kristy Staples, Dan Vargas, Lars and Garret Peterson; Gillian and Madison Gorelik; special aunt, Betty Larsen; in-laws, Arnie and Sue DeRocher; step-son, Brandon (Michelle) Paisley; step-grandchildren, Cole and Ethan Paisley; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends, too numerous to mention by name, including his four-legged-friends, Jake and Shirley. In accordance with Larry’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Monday, April 3, 2006 at 6:00 pm. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Firefighters’ Burn Camp for Children” WAFS, P.O. Box 1442, Brookfield, WI 53008. Special note of thanks to Larry’s friends on the Rescue Squad and to the staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center-Emergency Room for their assistance and efforts in his time of need. We know Larry is now playing golf on the “Best Course” there is!!!!!

    I am saddened to find out that Larry passed away. I first met Larry at Howell Elementary School. I can honestly say that I liked him ever since. I have heard of his excellent career, and was very pleased that he made Captain. My sincere sympathy to his family.
