Sally R. Keppler

Mar 13, 1934 – Jun 4, 2008

Sally R. Keppler, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, with her family at her bedside. She was born in Racine on March 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Oliver and Ruth (nee: Christenson) Hansche. Sally was a lifetime resident of Racine. She graduated from Washington Park High School and attended Ripon College. On September 11, 1954 she was united in marriage to Donald Keppler. They later divorced; Donald passed away on December 20, 2004. Sally had been employed by the Racine Unified School District as a paraprofessional for special education programs. She served as president for the Racine Educational Aides Association. Sally enjoyed playing bridge, going to movies and live performances, traveling, and just having fun. She was a Packer fan and to say she loved the Brewers is an understatement. Surviving are her children, Kurt (Debra) Keppler of Valdosta, GA, and Kim Marie (Jay) Suhr of Austin, TX; grandchildren Jarrett Suhr of Melbourne FL, Kyle Keppler, a May graduate of Georgia Tech, Jordan Suhr, a student at Texas A & M, Katlin Keppler a student at Valdosta State University, and Madison Suhr of Austin, TX; and by her true and faithful companion, John Winter of Racine. Sally will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her Memorial Service will be held in Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Rd. on Saturday, June 7th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kara Baylor and Rev. Carl Johnson officiating. Relatives and friends can meet with the family from Noon until the time of the service. The family has suggested memorials to the Oncology Alliance Philanthropic Foundation. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael P. Mullane, his nurses and staff; as well as, the staff of Wheaton Franciscan Hospice.

Testimonials

January 9, 2025

Michael,

First, let me start out by saying you were a God sent working with me for many years in preparations for my mom’s Homegoing Celebration December 7, 2024.  Even though this was our first time meeting in person, I felt like I already knew you.  Michael, you demonstrated  professionalism, empathy and, your warmth was surprising for me considering your role as a Funeral Director. Your attention to every detail, patient and support has made this process much easier for my family and me. I trusted you and you helped me find closure in a moment of great sadness, and for that we’re eternally grateful. I appreciate the time and energy you put into ensuring everything ran smoothly considering I reside in a different state.  Michael, my mom would have loved you and our family is forever grateful for your unwavering dedication and support during our season of grief.  May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you. (Numbers 6:25)
