Hazel Lee Campbell

May 3, 1929 – Dec 26, 2014

~~Hazel Lee (nee: Towles) Campbell was born on May 3, 1929, to Edgar and Josephine Towles in Somerville, TN.
Hazel received her formal education at Wesley School in Somerville, TN.  Hazel accepted Christ as her savior at the age of fourteen and was united with Spring Hill Methodist Church of Somerville and later united with Wayman AME Church in Racine, WI, where she served as an usher.
Hazel was united in Holy Matrimony with Richard Campbell on October 5, 1951 in Racine, WI. This union was blessed with eight children.  She was employed by Southern Colony as a custodial worker for thirteen years before she retired.
Hazel Campbell departed this life on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center, where her voice could always be heard down the hallway, singing her favorite gospel tunes. 
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Campbell; son. Jeffrey Campbell; daughter, Patricia Campbell; grandson, Wesley Nesbitt; parents, Edgar and Josephine Towles; sisters, Margaret Gilchrease, Ilean Goodman and Alma Gray.  She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her sons, Syid (Sakinah) of Racine, Charles (Dottie) Parker of Memphis, TN, James (Virginia) Campbell of Lawton, OK, Warren ( Carolyn) Campbell of Racine, WI, Fredrick and Darryl Campbell of Racine, WI;  daughters, Richetta Nesbitt of Desert Springs, CA, Shirley (Berlin) Funderburg and Brenda Campbell all of Racine, WI; 55 grandchildren, 106 great grand-children and 12 great great-grandchildren; a brother, William (Patricia) Towles of Somerville, TN; sisters, Diane Towles of Somerville, TN and Ossie Daidson of Racine, WI, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and good friends.  Hazel will be dearly missed.

 A Celebration of her life will take place on Monday, January 5, 2014 in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home Chapel at 11am.  The visitation will be from 10am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
