Location: Greg Chapel C.M.E Church, 2237 Howe St, Racine, WI

Today, we celebrate the life and homegoing of a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother sister and friend.

Marsha “Doll” Goodwin was born August 24th, 1956 in Quitman, MS, to the late Gene Goodwin and Mattie (nee: Marsh) Goodwin- Jones.

Her family relocated to Racine, Wisconsin in 1957, where she received her education in the Racine Unified School District, and held various jobs until her health failed. She attended Gregg Chapel CME Church.

Doll loved the beach, live bands, parades, and attended all the events happening around the city. As everyone knows, Doll was outspoken, humorous, and she loved ALL of her family – whether you were on her list or not! She gave anyone that knew her, wonderful memories to hold on to. She will be missed by all.

Doll made her transition Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Ascension/ WFH- All Saint’s Hospital at the age of 60. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters; Kaome “Michele” (Danny) Hood, Damiesha Goodwin-Barker, and Verlyn Wilson, and son Damaris Goodwin. Seven grandkids, one great grandchild. Sisters; Linda and Dareaka Goodwin. Brothers; Larry, DeUndrae, and Gary (Rebecca) Goodwin. Uncles; John (Shirley) and Benny Goodwin, Frank (Phyllis) and Eddie Marsh, Aunts; Jean (Euwauna) Boutwell, Shirley Oliver and Fareeda Dadzie, special friend Eric Gates, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Doll was preceded in death by daughter Vernisha Wilson, her parents, grandparents, eight uncles and six aunts.

A Celebration of her life will take place on Monday, November 7th, 11:00am, at Greg Chapel C.M.E. Church, 2237 Howe St, Visitation will be at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service.

There are no words to describe how thankful and loved we felt during our Grandpa’s funeral service. We are so lucky to know you as friends and we will be forever grateful for everything you have done for us and for Grandpa Mario throughout his lifetime and after his death.
