Life Reflections Gayit Zishita Tenort-Franklin, age 41, was called to her Heavenly Home with her family by her side on Friday July 2, 2021. She was born May 12, 1980, to Ernest Tenort and Garnett Betts in Racine, Wisconsin. She confessed her love to Christ at a young age and blossomed over the years. She expressed her love for each and every individual in her own way. Gayit (Yama) was a God-fearing woman, an amazing mother, full of Laughter and Love and not shy at all to have a conversation about HER God…the Man above. Her dedication to her marriage and family was the highlight of her day. Praising and leadership was always a priority with her. Gayit (Yama) was a member at KBFC for several years. The past two years she was serving at Life in God Ministries Racine as a worship Leader and a member of the LIGM Prayer Team. She was the queen of imitating her friends and family, especially her mother Garnett (GG). Gayit’s (Yama’s) inspiration was to find a location to create different Christian based groups, mentoring and fun activities for young adults. Being a mother, she acknowledges that the children are OUR future. Yama took the lead and was heading toward Entrepreneurship, which was one of her short-term goals. Creating Christian apparel and starting a YouTube Channel. Gayit (Yama) leaves to cherish her beautiful memories with her husband LaRon Franklin Sr. Children Breasia Edwards, Brenard Edwards, Leah Franklin and LaBron Franklin. Stepchildren Myasia, LaRon Jr. and LaRiya Franklin. Parents Ernest Tenort and Garnett Betts. Father and Mother-in-law Ricky Joe and Cheryle Ann Franklin. Brothers and Sisters Garret Watson, Antonio McClain, Guywuan Tenort Sr.and Ernika Tenort. Brother and Sister-in-law Ricky (Shawna) Franklin and Elizebeth Walker. Special Aunts Daisy (Oscar), Charlene (Lacy), Azelean (Benard), Angela, Carmen and Erica. Uncles Oscar, Keith, Glenter, Moses Jr and Mark. Special sister-cousins Judith Flora Mitchell, Artavia Etinne Mayweather and Jordan Mack. Special niece and nephew Seveghn and Guywuan Jr.. Godchildren Aarion and Lilyanna. Special lifelong sister-friend Naketha Campbell “Pookie” along with a host of very loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Cedars and Mary Tenort. Maternal grandparents Garland Betts and Mozelle Marie Etinne. Uncles Eddie Tenort, Willie Tenort and Garland Massie and her Aunt Doris Bogan.

The Homegoing service for Gayit will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13th, with Pastor Stanley McKenzie and Pastor Alicia McKenzie officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.

Testimonials

June 24, 2020

Can’t thank Gary and you all enough for our fathers funeral arrangements (Victor Joseph Morris) June 18th, 2020.
He would have been SO proud. So many little personal details that we were not even expecting, totally overwhelmed us. From the pamphlets to the thank-you notes and copies of the video, to the beautiful casket picture and arrangement. Pop looked as proud as he was in life. And thanks also to the very cooperative and helpful staff. We thought it would take much longer to knock this all out at our one and only meeting with Gary. We did not want to overlook, or forget to give our heartfelt thanks for such wonderful service at such a horrible time in our lives.
God Bless,
Bob Morris
