Dora Margaret McCoy

Service Details

A memorial celebration service will be held at the  Community Church of the Nazarene (8440 Spring Street) on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.

There will be a visitation at the church from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

MOUNT PLEASANT – Dora Margaret Blickensderfer McCoy, 92, met her Lord & Savior and entered glory, holding her daughters’ hands, on December 10, 2021.

Dora was born October 6, 1929 in Burt, North Dakota to Paul & Frieda Blickensderfer who came from Germany.  She grew up on a humble farm during the depression years.   Her dedication to hard work continued to be her life’s desire.

She earned a Nursing Degree and devoted her life to serving God, her family, and her community.   She worked at Racine Medical Clinic for Dr. Robert Ortwein for over 30 years and retired in 1994.

Her hands were never idle.  She baked bread, sewed, knit, crocheted, gardened, and raised four children.   Her talents were many and she shared them all with everyone.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Robert, David, Colleen & Jeaneen, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, all of her extended family and friends.   Her love and commitment to serve Jesus and live daily for Him will be her legacy for generations to come.  She was a prayer warrior for us, rising early and praying on her knees.   We are forever grateful that she was ours.

A memorial celebration service will be held on Saturday, May7, 2022, at Twelve O’ Clock Noon in the  Community Church of the Nazarene where she was a dedicated life-long member.   In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Southeastern Wisconsin Youth for Christ (3001 Carpenter Ave  Racine, WI 53403)

Dora’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the entire Hospice Alliance staff for the loving and professional attention extended toward her and her family while under their care.

To all of you,

Be There!

What a beautiful obit. She was an amazing lady that I’ve know since meeting Jeaneen in third grade. She was an inspiration to all and her legacy will go on through her children. She will be missed dearly. All my love to you and your families….

Aunt Dora was a loving aunt and raised her children well in the Lord. I remember fondly the summers Dora and the kids would come to Mott for a week in the summer. We were able to get to know her and the cousins because of that. Prayers for comfort to the McCoy family.

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

I just can’t get over how beautiful everything was for my mom’s funeral. She had a rough last four weeks but your amazing team totally did her justice! I was pretty confused during that hard time, but Brian, you made sure that all the “I”s were dotted and all the “T”s crossed. For that, I thank you. I also would like to thank the amazing team of makeup artists. My mom looked beautiful.
