Humans have mastered many things in this world, but some elements of our existence are beyond our control. We cannot conquer time. God is the one who appoints each moment, for he is the ultimate authority in heaven and on earth. God has spoken.

On Friday, March 11, 2022, he dispersed his angel to receive our loved one, Larry Dobbie Warren; affectionately known by many as “Dobbie”. Dobbie was the third child of the late Mr. John Jennings Warren and the late Mrs. Alvin Lee Warren. Born in Indianapolis, IN, he relocated to Alamo, TN after the passing of his mother, to be raised and cared for by his Grandmother, the late Mrs. Jennie Lee Green-Jones. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at Midgett Chapel United Methodist Church, where he attended regularly with his Grandmother and his siblings.

Dobbie graduated from Central High School in Alamo, TN. Upon graduation from high school, he relocated to Racine, WI. until the time of his earthly departure. Dobbie was quite outgoing and gregarious, never encountering a stranger. He mastered his relationships with others. His mantra could be summed up best by the lyrics to this song: If I can help somebody, as I travel along, If I can help somebody, with a word or song, If I can help somebody, from doing wrong. No, my living shall not be in vain.

He enjoyed cooking, nice cars and was very keen on his appearance as he loved to “dress up”. His caring, compassionate and very generous spirit was always felt by those whom he came in contact with. To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife, Carol and her beloved family; his admired son, Donyale Pierre Lake-Warren and his mother, Dora Ann; his esteemed grandson, Pierre Warren; Brothers: Bennie (Alice Faye) Warren, Racine, Wisconsin; Wayne (Suzette) Warren, Brownsville, TN; Milton (Patricia) Warren, Alamo, TN; Jerry Warren, Alamo, TN; Calvin (Joyce) Warren, Columbus, OH; Sisters: Joyce (Chuck) Reid, Lithonia, GA; Teresa Bethea, Landover, Maryland; Rev. Annette Warren, Cedar Bluff, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rest in peace Dobby may God continue to strengthen your family and your loved ones as they endure the hardship of your departure. This life is easy, but sometimes we love those things of the flesh, that harden our love for God.

Testimonials

May 25, 2021

My family wants to thank you and your team for all that you did to walk along side us in my mom’s death and celebration of life. You all did an amazing job with such care, concern of details, and sensitivity to our family. I know my moms body was treated respectfully in your care and that meant the world to us to have confidence in that.
