Claire was my cousin who was a beloved part of my childhood. She was kind, intelligent, loved to sing and played the guitar, and cared greatly for the environment. So many years ago, Claire took time from her weekend to take me, her younger cousin, to the UW-Parkside Library on the bus. This made a huge impression on me. Whenever I go into a college library, I think of her. Although I hadn’t seen her for many years, when my twins were born, Claire sent Gund bears for them. She was a gentle soul, a wonderful babysitter, and I will remember her with gratitude always.
