Peter W. David

Aug 7, 1954 – Jun 13, 2023

Service Details

In accordance with Peter’s wishes a private memorial service will take place.

Peter W. David, age 68, of Racine, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Tuesday, June 13,2023 with his family by his side.  Peter was born in Racine on August 7, 1954, to the late Roger and Charlotte (nee:  Hanson) David.  He graduated from St. Catherine’s High School and received an Associate Degree in Engineering from Gateway Technical College.  On May 6, 1989 Peter married Jeri L. Radtke, the love of his life for the last 33 years.  He was employed as a component engineer at Sanmina Corporation in Pleasant Prairie for many years, until unfortunately, he retired due to health issues.

Peter loved the outdoors and was a man of many talents.  Along with fishing and being in the north woods, he enjoyed playing the bass guitar which was a comforting pleasure for him as his illness progressed.  During his healthier years Peter always attended gatherings with family and friends.  He was casual in his lifestyle, jeans and t-shirt type, kind, gentle and compassionate soul…generous to a fault.  Peter also enjoyed cooking, whether for two or the family crowd, you could always count on him for some type of mouth-watering fare, and he always made sure you were sent home with leftovers.  If you happen to stop by on a Sunday, chances are you treated to one of Peter’s famous Bloody Mary’s.  Throughout his struggles with Parkinson’s Peter held on to his faith, even during his last few hours reciting the Lord’s Prayer with the priest and family by his side.

Peter was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother John David, father-in-law and mother-in-law Norman and Becky Radtke-Lau (Charlie).

Peter is survived by his wife, Jeri and daughter, Renee (John) Coveleyn, as well as his sister Joanie (Greg Morevec) Schultz, sisters-in-law, Julie (Gary) Day, Janie (Bill) Ertl and Cindy Lou (Larry) Radcliff, grandchildren, Brandy (Brett) Prahl, Aiden Corveleyn, Alexis (Dan) Saaman, Chad Corveleyn and Nick Corveleyn, and great-granddaughters, Blaire Prahl and Eden Saaman, along with other family and friends.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Maso and the nursing staff in the ICU department at Ascension All Saints Hospital, along with Compassus Hospice for the care, comfort, and compassion they provided.

Pete and Jeri were our neighbors for about twenty years. He introduced himself and made us feel welcome and connected right away. It was instant friendship and a bond that will always be with us. He and Jeri were the best friends and neighbors that anyone could ever ask for. Pete loved to cook and share his dishes and recipes while joking with Bill about how the Packers would beat the Steelers. We feel such a sense of loss but Pete will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever. We are praying that Jeri and all of his family find peace and comfort in knowing that he is at peace with no more pain and worries.

Testimonials

May 24, 2018

Our family wants to thank Mike and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf for their compassion and caring in the death of our mother. They attended to every detail with such professionalism and made this difficult time so much easier by unburdening us of all that needs to be done with the arrangements. We all felt that there was nothing more they could have been done. It was perfect. We can now go forward with the memories that we hold in our hearts of mom and know that we provided the best possible service by choosing Draeger-Langendorf.
