Julian G. Gonzalez, 88, received the promise of eternal life on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.  He was born in Cotulla, TX, on November 15, 1934, son of the late Pablo and Maria (nee: De Leon) Gonzalez.

Julian was united in marriage to the love of his life, Esther Garcia, on July 28, 1956, in Racine. He worked in construction for 22 years with Payne and Dolan, followed by 18 years at InSinkErator until he retired in 1997. Julian was a former member of Iglesia Bautista El Calvario in Kenosha.

Julian enjoyed the simple things in life such as going to the movies, taking long walks, and cruising with Esther. He loved watching the old westerns on television, going to car shows, and hanging out with family and friends, often while working on their cars and trucks. Julian had an infectious smile, a loving personality, and a zest for life that was contagious. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Julian is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Esther Gonzalez; children, Julian (Diana) Gonzalez, Jr, Roland (Victoria) Gonzalez, Cynthia (Kurt) Galisdorfer, Travis (Debra) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Ava Gonzalez, Olivia Gonzalez, Travis Gonzalez, Angela (Patrick) Gellenbeck, Kacy Galisdorfer, Rhea (Ben) Domina; great-grandchildren, Oliver Domina, Ada Domina; siblings, Ignacio Gonzalez, Robert (Donna) Gonzalez, Esperanza (Humberto) Velasquez, Martha Martinez, Pablo (Diana) Gonzalez; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to his parents, Julian is preceded in death by his brother, Edmundo (Joel) Gonzalez; and sister, Irene Gonzalez.

Julian’s visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road.  A celebration service of Julian’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home with Rev. Leticia Crowell officiating.  The visitation on Tuesday will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  A burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Julian’s family would like to extend a very special thank you for the kindness he received throughout his journey from family, friends, and the Compassus Hospice care team. And a heartfelt thank you to Nikki.

I am very sorry to hear about Uncle Julian. Two things I remember. He always made me laugh with the stories he would tell. And lots of his comments started with ” Oh my God……”. He will be missed. I know he and dad are glad to be together again. Take care family

Mr Gonzalez was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, I called him Mr Gonzalez as a child and continued addressing him as that thru out my adulthood because I thought he deserved that respect. He had a reserved manner, but also enjoyed a good laugh. Our condolences go out to Ester, Julian, Roland, Cynthia, Travis, and their families. May Mr Gonzales rest in peace.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to the Gonzalez Family. I had the pleasure to work with Julian at InSinkErator. He was joy to work with, always kind with such a positive and cheerful attitude. He never complained no matter what came his way and always the first to give you a hand. He handled everything with a smile, grace and warmth. After I left ISE, I ran into him on several occasions always with his Beloved Esther. What a attractive couple there couldn’t of been a better match. My thoughts and sincere prayers are with you all, as you grieve the loss of Julian. Sincerest Condolences, Cheryl Dixon

It came as an absolute shock, to learn of Julian’s passing, when I received Ester’s call, it seemed like we had spoken not to long ago and was I trying to get ahold of someone to help install a second bathroom,/ toilet, then I became ill to further assist, the people I contacted were no longer in business.
This broke my heart, Julian had the biggest heart and most wonderful smile and the best parent, and husband, I will definitely cherish my time spent with them both,
God ‘s Blessings to Ester and all of the family members!!

Many thanks to Bob and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf. This has been the hardest of times in my families lives and you were very attentive and helpful with all that needed to be done. The tribute that you created for my mother was beautiful and I shall not forget it. God bless all of you.
