Service Details

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.

Memorial Suggestions

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church – Racine have been suggested.

Racine – Delores Mae (nee: LaPat) Veselik, age 86, passed away at Crystal Bay Senior Living on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

A lifetime resident, Delores was born in Racine on April 7, 1938 to the late Frank LaPat and Victoria (nee: Staszewski) Smolarek. On June 30, 1956 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with Philip John Veselik, who preceded her in death on June 9, 2022.

Delores was employed by Goldblatt’s for over 30 years and by Kohl’s Dept. Store, from where she retired. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church – Racine. She was a lifetime member of Girl Scouts. Delores was a leader for multiple Girl Scout troops and designed and supervised girls in building many floats for the Racine Fourth Fest Parade. She also coached several girls softball teams for her daughters and their friends. Delores enjoyed bowling, ceramics, crafts, computer games & crossword puzzles. Above all, she loved spending time with her entire family.

Surviving are her children, Cheryl (Frank) Langel, Sue (Dan) Brieschke, Phylis Horn & Robert “Bob” Veselik; grandchildren, Amanda Langel (Byron Johnson), Sarah (Josh) Ryan, Mary (Matt) McClure, Christine (Nate Berryman) Horn & Stephen Horn; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Isaac, Molly and Maddox; sisters, Maryann (Larry) Anderson & Patricia Barth; sister-in-law, Barbara Sanders; nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Delores was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Allen Horn; grandson Christopher Langel; brother, Joseph LaPat; step-father, Walter Smolarek; brother-in-law, Robert Veselik; and brother-in-law, Guy Sanders.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church – Racine have been suggested.

A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. O’rell Williams, Dr. Young Choi and Compassus Hospice for the compassionate care and support given in Delores’ time of need. May God bless all of you!
