Bruno E. Fani, 77, passed away peacefully at home with his oldest son by his side on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Bruno was born on January 16, 1947, in Italy and came to the United States as a young man at the age of 14.  He was the son of Herman and Helen (Gentile) Fani.  Growing up, Bruno attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Class of 1966, in which he participated in many wrestling tournaments and earned the title of State Champ.  As a  young man, Bruno served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam War.

On June 30, 1990, Bruno married his loving wife, Jacqueline Dunham, who preceded him in death on January 5, 2020.  Bruno was employed by Beckhart Environment Inc. until his retirement.  After retirement, Bruno took a job with Maplecrest Country Club.  Bruno loved the outdoors and enjoyed mowing and maintaining the grounds.

Bruno was a member of the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286, the Swedish American Club, and a former member of the Italian American Club.

Through life, Bruno enjoyed playing pool with his wife, spending time out and about with family and his many friends, talking with his family in Italy, his breakfast club, gardening, watching his grandchildren play sports, watching and feeding the birds, and raising his banana trees.  Bruno also enjoyed tossing the frisbee with his dog, Izzy.

Bruno is survived by his loving family: sons, Steven (Georgey) Fani and Anthony (Kelley) Fani of Kenosha, WI; daughter, Emilia (Michael) Meincke of Silver Lake, WI; and sons, Edward (Wendy) Rose and Dan (Candi) Rose of Kenosha, WI.  Bruno is survived by his fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  Bruno is also survived by his sister, Marietta (Gerald) Mengo, of Salem Lakes, WI; brother, Jerry (Hilda) Fani of Kenosha, WI; and sister-in-law, Janet Fani of Kenosha, WI.  Bruno is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, his beloved family in Italy, and many friends.

Bruno is preceded in death by his wife, Jackie, his brother, Frank, and his parents, Herman and Helen Fani.

Testimonials

Helene Hellesen

Bill’s service was beautiful, beyond belief. Leslie was priceless in all she did. Gary, knowing Bill for many years, said a few words at the service. The special touched I didn’t expect warmed my heart. Two very, very special people helped make a sad day into something very special.

Thank you to all those that helped behind the scene, setting up, opening doors. My heart is full.

Bless you.
