Service Details

Viewing will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 am in Christ Chapel MBC (815 Park Avenue  Racine, WI 53403). Homegoing Service will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. T.L. Howell officiating. Repast will immediately follow in Christ Church Fellowship Hall.

Shirley Ann will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Tony on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:00 am in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W. Hoff Road  Elwood, IL 60421).

Racine – Shirley Ann Wright Simon, age 70, transitioned peacefully on November 3, 2024 at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine, WI.

Shirley was born in Chicago, IL on January 5, 1954 to Allen and Leola Wright. She was baptized into Christ at the early age of 8 years old. Shirley attended Englewood High School in Chicago, IL. She moved to Zion, IL in 1972.

Shirley Ann worked as a quality control specialist and was an amazing homemaker & tireless caregiver. Shirley loved the Lord and would often fellowship with various churches. The Lord heard Shirley cry.

Shirley Ann was very artistic, loved to decorate, had many skills & agility with her hands to create beautiful craftsmanship. She was also quite the baker, enjoyed cooking, puzzles, drawing, watching classic movies and, above all, was a faithful & devoted mother figure to all her nieces & nephews.

Surviving are her brothers, Allen Wright / Aqua Michelle Gentry Wright & Alvin Wright; sisters, Sherry Ann Wright, Sheila Ann Edwards, LeeEsther Wright Lear / James Lear and Dorothy Wright; brother-in-law, Leon Scott; host of nieces & nephews, Damone / Vanessa, Tyrellis, Donte / Shamal, Deshawn / Michelle, Andrew, Shyla / Symeon Cabell, Jaminesha, La’Kema, Lashone, Andrew Jr., Ja’Ella, Tepaingar, Leon Jr., Kelisha, Latrisha, Deon, Keon,  Nicole Walls, Antoinette Lee, Allen Wright Jr., Aqua Le’Anna, Kenneth and Eric; many, many special great-nieces & nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention all by name.

Shirley Ann was preceded in death by her dad, Allen Wright; mom, Leola Wright; husband, Tony Simon; brothers-in-law, Derrick Winn and James Edwards; and nephew, Marcus Allen Wright.
