Charles (Chuck) A. Iggulden, 93, passed away at his residence on January 20th, 2025.  He was born in Racine on July 23, 1931, son of the late Albert and Gertrude (nee: Schmahl) Iggulden.

Chuck was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School, class of 1950, after which he enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve and was soon transferred into the U.S. Marine Corp as a Hospital Corpsman and served in the Korean War. Chuck was united in marriage to the love of his life, Janet Valukas, on May 15, 1965, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Racine. He worked for over 40 years at S.C. Johnson Wax.  He was a man that liked to do things for himself, always had a hand available to help whoever was in need and possessed a friendly joking nature that endeared him to all those who crossed his path.  Chuck enjoyed bowling, golf, drawing, and collecting coins; was a devoted Brewers, Packers, and Marquette fan; was fascinated by history, and could often be found reading the paper after a hard day’s work. Above all, he was devoted to his family, and he will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Chuck is survived by his children, Jennie (Burts) Compton; Roy (Emily Durbin) Iggulden; grandchildren, Beth (Bailey) Fassler, Charlie Compton, Sam Compton, Wyatt Durbin Iggulden, Logan Durbin Iggulden; and other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention. In addition to his parents and wife, Chuck is preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Iggulden; siblings, Michael Iggulden, Rosemary Iggulden, Sister Patricia Anne Iggulden, and Shirley (Dr. Stanley) Jeffrey; and in-laws, Anthony and Lucille Valukas.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Bill’s service was beautiful, beyond belief. Leslie was priceless in all she did. Gary, knowing Bill for many years, said a few words at the service. The special touched I didn’t expect warmed my heart. Two very, very special people helped make a sad day into something very special.

Thank you to all those that helped behind the scene, setting up, opening doors. My heart is full.

Bless you.

Helene Hellesen
