Kevin J. Wirt

Dec 27, 1955 – Jun 21, 2025

Service Details

Services celebrating Kevin’s life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 6:00PM with Chaplain Paul Ssonko officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 4:00PM until the time of service. Lynn and family offer special thanks to the staff at The Medical Suites of Oak Creek, especially Bree, their favorite nurse.

Kevin Wirt, age 69, passed away at The Medical Suites at Oak Creek on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Kevin was born in Racine on December 27, 1955 to John and Lorraine (nee: Koski) Wirt. He was employed by JI Case for many years until illness led to his retirement. On June 27, 1987, Kevin was united in marriage with Lynn Slaasted. Among his interests, Kevin was a “car guy” especially passionate about Mustangs; loved organizing his garage; was quite the storyteller and jokester, with a great sense of humor; owned a Harley Davidson (ask Lynn about that story!).

Kevin is survived by his wife, Lynn; children, Stephanie (Rob) Waterfield, Marc (Callie) Rannow, Kyle (Nikki) Rannow and Cory Wirt; grandchildren, Hannah, Kaylee, Helena, Bryan, Trynity and Lucas; sisters, Karen Wirt and Kathleen (Mark) Nielsen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Sherry Slaasted, Carol Meshenky, John Slaasted, Jeff and Tina Slaasted; best friend, Leo Wagner; other relatives and friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorraine; Lynn’s parents, Hans and Bernice Slaastad; and all his beloved animal companions through the years.

Testimonials

Sincere Gratitude

I can’t express my gratitude enough to Mike and the Draeger-Langendorf staff for such great service provided to us, as we made arrangements to lay our brother to rest. You all went above and beyond to make sure we understood every detail there was to know, from the greatest to the smallest. When we walked out of your office, we walked out with peace, knowing that our brother was in good hands. Thank you Mike for adding that special touch to my brother’s service, that’s the kind of stuff that separates you all from the rest. Once again Thank you so much.
