Francis Wayne Marchetti

vet
Nov 27, 1946 – Jul 24, 2025

Service Details

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemtery, 21731 Spring Street, in Union Grove. Guests are asked to meet at the administration building parking lot at 12:30pm. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and reflection, sharing stories that celebrate his generous spirit and the love he shared so abundantly.

Francis Wayne Marchetti, known to all as “Wayne”, a beloved family man, dedicated veteran, and passionate car enthusiast, departed this world peacefully on July 24, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on November 27, 1946, in Florida, Wayne leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and camaraderie.

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War, where he displayed extraordinary bravery and resilience, earning a Purple Heart for his service. After his time in the military, he found fulfillment in a rewarding career as a welder, ultimately retiring from Bristol Container. Those who worked alongside him admired his craftsmanship and unwavering work ethic.

A true car fanatic at heart, Wayne poured his passion into restoring classic cars, cherishing his beloved ’68 Mustang and his ’70 and ’71 Dodge Demons. His affinity for adventure extended beyond the garage; he was an avid fisherman with a special love for casting lines in Lake Michigan for King Salmon, as well as spending joyful hours fishing with his grandchildren at Paddock Lake-a place where cherished memories were made.

Wayne was more than a father and grandfather to his own family; he was a grandpa to the entire town. With an open heart and helping hands, he was always there, whether fixing lawn mowers or caring for neighbors’ pets. His singing echoed through local karaoke nights, bringing the joy of oldies to those who gathered around him.

In this chapter of life that he filled with so much warmth and kindness, Wayne’s spirit will linger in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Travis Marchetti, Brett (Ann) Marchetti; grandchildren, Christina, Brandon, Jackie, Joshua, Ashley, Alicia; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh; sister-in-law, Ruth Wood; nieces, Heather, Hannah; and special friend, Debbie Bowker. Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelyn; son, Paul Marchetti; daughter-in-law, Lisa Marchetti; and brother-in-law, Dean Wood.

As we bid farewell to Wayne, we hold close the laughter, the music, and the shared moments that make our hearts rejoice. Though he may have left this earthly realm, his legacy of love will forever shine brightly in our lives.

Testimonials

March 13, 2025

Thank you so very much for the exemplary care that you provided for both our mom and dad. Your family is extremely kind and exudes much empathy towards others. You and your staff display much professionalism with great talent and attention to detail. Mom and dad were always very particular in their appearance. Mom would say, You are leaving a lasting impression of yourself with someone to remember you by. Your parents taught you boys well; be very proud of that! Love on them, as death is so very permanent.

Holly and I are officially orphans now. It is people like your family and David Huck being there for us, that bring comfort when you are going through one of the most difficult challenges life throws at you.

I thank God every day for our Ostergaard family and will always cherish the memories.

Love you,

Jody Burlingame Wagner
