Constance "Connie" Frances Kuzel

Mar 20, 1937 – Sep 18, 2025

Service Details

In accordance with Connie’s wishes, she will be entombed, with her beloved Rudy, at Mound Cemetery.

Racine – Constance “Connie” Frances Kuzel, age 88, passed away September 18, 2025 at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine, WI after a long illness.

Connie was born March 20, 1937 in Racine, at home, to the late Stanley Mitek and Katherine (Suslowicz) Mitek. She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School on June 2, 1955. She married Rudy John Kuzel on February 16, 1957. Connie worked a series of jobs: as a key punch operator at Massey-Ferguson, secretary at Racine Unified School District, factory inspection at American Motors, and lastly, had several positions at SC Johnson, from where she retired after 15 years of service.

In her lifetime, Connie had a great many interests, such as: reading, swimming, knitting, gardening, ceramics, skiing, dog shows, dart ball, audio books, computer games and spoiling her beloved furry children. She had a giving heart and has been the glue that held the family together and will be greatly missed. Connie was always there to help her parents, siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren have precious memories of overnight sleepovers, bowling, movies, museums, hiking, canoeing and countless trips to the “little house” in Lake Delton, WI with their “Busia” and their “Papa”. They truly were the best grandparents.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Rudy John Kuzel; mother-in-law, Ina (nee: Cook) Kuzel; father-in-law, Rudy Joseph Kuzel; son-in-law, Robert Kernan; sisters, Josephine Runge and Dorothy Mielcarek; brothers, Charles Mitek and Jack Mitek; brothers-in-law, Bill Runge and Walter Mielcarek; sisters-in-law, LaVerne Mitek and Connie Mae Mitek; special nieces, Charlee Drilla and Fran Mielcarek; and grand-nephew, Daniel Mielcarek.

She is survived by her daughter, Colleen Kernan; sons, Kraig and Brian Kuzel; sister-in-law, Judy Kuzel; grandsons, Matt, Nick and Ryan Kernan. Connie is also survived by loving nieces and nephews of the Runge, Mielcarek and Mitek families.

In accordance with Connie’s wishes, she will be entombed, with her beloved Rudy, at Mound Cemetery.

Family wishes to express a special thanks to the staffs of Ascension Hospital and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care and support. Also, many thanks to our family members who have been supportive during this time.

Testimonials

Last warm-hearted care of our mother

Words cannot even begin to express the tremendous gratitude our family has for a team like the one at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home & Crematory. Thank you for the gentle lovely care over our mother Delia (Rosa) Balderas. Never having had a direct experience with a funeral home to this extent we didnt know what to expect. We didnt have a clue that they would step right in and have the most comforting team surrounding us that thought of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING for anyone in our position. It was very evident from the first discussion on the phone that they were already well prepared to handle every little detail for us that we weren’t even aware would be required. Mark and his team truly eased so much of the unknown worries right out of our path, and left room for us to just focus on the small personal details we wanted for our mom. It was nice to know that all cost involved was in black and white on their site as well as on paper at our first meeting. Leaving no room for question or doubt what so ever with any fee involved. It was truly a blessing to have everything written out so well and simplified with various price range options in a time that we needed crystal clear direction. Its been beautiful to see that their care and service didnt stop after our mom’s service came to an end. They continue to be in communication with immediate responses as questions arise along the way. God bless Mark, and the entire compassionate team, to be around to guide many many more for generations to come through life’s most difficult times. You are all truly amazing.
