Laurie K. Howe, age 75, passed away August 16, 2025, at St. Monica’s Senior Living, Racine.  She was born to William F. and Irene S. (Nee: Mano) Howe on October 3, 1949. She is survived by her brother James J. Howe of Redgranite, Wisconsin and her sister Karen A. Marrier of Englewood Colorado and Karen’s children Monique Willson of Walnut Creek, California, and Marc Marrier of Englewood, Colorado. Laurie was preceded in death by her sister, Susan J. Jaimes and is further survived by Susan’s children, Leonel “Lee” Jaimes and Leslie Jaimes.

Laurie graduated from Holy Trinity Grade School and in 1968 from Saint Catherine’s High, which she followed up with a career in manufacturing working for Dremel Manufacture and Insinkerator.

Laurie loved to travel. Hawaii was her favorite, she also loved to visit Colorado.  Laurie loved all animals but especially her two cats, Maxine and Lilly. She enjoyed crafting, entertaining, and dancing (especially to Elvis). She claimed to be the best “Mashed Potatoes” dancer…. and she was.  Laurie had a big smile, a hearty laugh, and made everyone feel welcomed and comfortable.  She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A special thank you to the staff at St. Monica’s Senior Living for their loving and compassionate care from the beginning to the end.   Also, a heartfelt thank you to Carissa from St. Croix Hospice for her loving care and expertise as she was a true comfort for Laurie.  A final thanks  to her longtime friend, Sandy, who spent many hours visiting, reminiscing, and comforting Laurie when it was needed most.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 24th at 10:00am at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5600 Holy Cross, Road, Racine.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Testimonials

Last warm-hearted care of our mother

Words cannot even begin to express the tremendous gratitude our family has for a team like the one at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home & Crematory. Thank you for the gentle lovely care over our mother Delia (Rosa) Balderas. Never having had a direct experience with a funeral home to this extent we didnt know what to expect. We didnt have a clue that they would step right in and have the most comforting team surrounding us that thought of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING for anyone in our position. It was very evident from the first discussion on the phone that they were already well prepared to handle every little detail for us that we weren’t even aware would be required. Mark and his team truly eased so much of the unknown worries right out of our path, and left room for us to just focus on the small personal details we wanted for our mom. It was nice to know that all cost involved was in black and white on their site as well as on paper at our first meeting. Leaving no room for question or doubt what so ever with any fee involved. It was truly a blessing to have everything written out so well and simplified with various price range options in a time that we needed crystal clear direction. Its been beautiful to see that their care and service didnt stop after our mom’s service came to an end. They continue to be in communication with immediate responses as questions arise along the way. God bless Mark, and the entire compassionate team, to be around to guide many many more for generations to come through life’s most difficult times. You are all truly amazing.
