Alicia Saldivar Charo

Nov 7, 1939 – Feb 19, 2015

~~     Alicia Saldivar Charo, 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on Thursday, February 19, 2015. She was born in Cotulla, TX on November 7, 1939, the daughter of the late Celso and Maria (nee: Perez) Saldivar.
     On August 31, 1957, she was united in marriage to Jose “Joe” Charo. Together they shared nearly fifty-seven years together, until he preceded her in death on June 6, 2014. Alicia was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She delighted in making a home for her family and cooking for them. She was famous for her tamales. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
     She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Dolores (John McTaggert) Bennett, Jose (Celia Schulz) Charo, and Yvonne (Rick) Castillo; four grandchildren, Ezequiel G. (Kelli) Leo III, A.J Leo, Valerie Castillo, and Emily Castillo; and three great-grandchildren, Geeon J.E., Gavin I. and Gracelyn Leo. In addition to her parents and beloved Joe, Alicia was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dana Bennett, and brother, Alvaro Saldivar.  
     Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, February 24th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Antony Thomas officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will take place in Graceland Cemetery.
