Interment services for Allen were held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.

Memorial Suggestions

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Veterans of America or Parkinson Foundation have been suggested.

Allen Gerald Bodven, 73, passed away on November 9, 2020, at the Clement J Zablocki VA Medical Center.  He was born in Racine on September 8, 1947, son of the late Nicholas and Jessie (Née: Fritchen) Bodven. Allen attended Fritchen school and was a graduate of Union Grove High School.

Allen was united in marriage to the former Carol Segert, on February 14, 1993.

Allen served in the United States Army and fought in Vietnam from February 1968- February 1969, Recon 1/16 1st Infantry Company HHC.   Allen worked at Matheson’s Automatic Sales until it’s dissolution in 2009. Allen enjoyed tinkering with motorcycles which eventually led him to owning his own business Al’s Custom Harley.  He enjoyed the outdoors and travelling on his Harley up until his battle with Parkinsons, most of all, he loved time spent with family and friends.

Allen is survived by his son, Jerry (Debbie); grandchild, Alexander; His Brothers, Nicholas (Aline) from Fort Myers, FL, Dean (Roz) from Gasville,AR, Carol’s children and grandchildren and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Allen is preceded in death by his wife, Carol on July 21, 2015; brother, Burton and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Veterans of America or Parkinson Foundation have been suggested.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Clement J Zablocki VA Medical Center for the care they provided Allen while battling Parkinson and COVID-19, especially during his last days providing him with comfort and dignity.

Interment services for Allen were held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
