In accordance with Arlene’s wishes, her funeral services were held privately with interment following in St. George Cemetery, Kenosha, WI.

Memorial Suggestions

Her family would like to thank Hospice for the wonderful attention and great care given to our mother at her most difficult time.

Arlene D. Monson, age 91, of Kenosha, passed away on December 10, 2022.

Arlene was born on March 20, 1931 in Racine, WI, the daughter of the late Trifon and Albina (nee: Drozd) Zalepa. She was a proud 1949 graduate of Washington Park High School in Racine, WI.  On July 3, 1954, she was united in marriage to Kenneth O. Monson at Holy Name Catholic Church, Racine, WI.  Sadly, he preceded her in death in November 1996.

Arlene worked as an Administrative Assistant starting with the UW Kenosha Extension and retiring in 1989 from the University of WI Parkside following many years of devoted service.

Arlene was a lifelong cat lover (Skeeter, Misty, Rosie, and Peaches); a devoted Green Bay Packer fan; famous for her homemade fudge, Christmas cookies, and holiday dinners she prepared well into her 80’s.  She enjoyed reading and listening to Neil Diamond. Arlene was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Kenosha, WI, and the Kenosha Senior Center, enjoying many years of activities.

Survivors include her three children, Jeanine (Terry) Weygant, Laura (Robert) Wieske, and Kenneth (Trudy) Monson; her grandchildren, Kim (Greg) Emmrich, Kaitlin (Jeff) Miller, Lindsey (Sam) Stefanski, Ken Monson, Josh (Jessica) Monson, and Ashley (Alan) Rahlf; her great grandchildren, Anya, Chenoa, Spencer, Fallon, Alivia, Ellie, Melanie, Veda, Aaron, and Finn.  She is also survived by her niece and Godchild, Darlene Schultz.

Along with her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by her two sisters and brothers in law, Rose (Norbert) Willger, and Lorraine (Robert) Stram.

In accordance with Arlene’s wishes, her funeral services were held privately with interment following in St. George Cemetery, Kenosha, WI. Her family would like to thank Hospice for the wonderful attention and great care given to our mother at her most difficult time.

Testimonials

Last warm-hearted care of our mother

Words cannot even begin to express the tremendous gratitude our family has for a team like the one at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home & Crematory. Thank you for the gentle lovely care over our mother Delia (Rosa) Balderas. Never having had a direct experience with a funeral home to this extent we didnt know what to expect. We didnt have a clue that they would step right in and have the most comforting team surrounding us that thought of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING for anyone in our position. It was very evident from the first discussion on the phone that they were already well prepared to handle every little detail for us that we weren’t even aware would be required. Mark and his team truly eased so much of the unknown worries right out of our path, and left room for us to just focus on the small personal details we wanted for our mom. It was nice to know that all cost involved was in black and white on their site as well as on paper at our first meeting. Leaving no room for question or doubt what so ever with any fee involved. It was truly a blessing to have everything written out so well and simplified with various price range options in a time that we needed crystal clear direction. Its been beautiful to see that their care and service didnt stop after our mom’s service came to an end. They continue to be in communication with immediate responses as questions arise along the way. God bless Mark, and the entire compassionate team, to be around to guide many many more for generations to come through life’s most difficult times. You are all truly amazing.
