Charles M. Mullikin

Jul 19, 1933 – Dec 11, 2008

Mount Pleasant – Charles M. Mullikin, 75, passed away at Oak Ridge Care center on Thursday, December 11, 2008. He was born in Harve, Montana on July 19, 1933, son of the late Otis and Mable (nee: McCleary) Mullikin. Chuck was raised in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Illinois-Champaign. He was a veteran of the US Army, and had served his tour in Guam. On August 24, 1963 he was married in Milwaukee at St Thomas Lutheran Church to Donna M. DeBruin. Chuck had been a Racine area resident for 35 years. Chuck enjoyed a successful career as an Electrical Engineer and consultant for Harnischfeger; McGraw Edison; and many other local firms. He was a member and past president of the Illuminating Engineering Society of Milwaukee. Chuck liked to sing, play cards with his family (especially sheepshead, pinochle and cribbage), and watch the Chicago Blackhawks and the White Sox. He also liked traveling with Donna and visiting Arts & Crafts shows. Chuck was a long and active member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Mullikin of Mount Pleasant; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mable Ruth and Rev. Ed Ehresman of Asheville, N. Carolina, Cordelia and Phillip Koplow of Covington, Kentucky, Beth and Rev. Ted Hanleck of Port Charlotte, Florida; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald DeBruin of Richardson, Texas, Wayne and Jeanne DeBruin of Rochester, Minnesota; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded by brother, Robert Mullikin, and his sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Arthur Donovan. Memorial services will be held in Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2008 with Rev. David Echelbarger officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Memorials are encouraged in Chuck’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association; American Cancer Society; or Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church.
