Charles “Todd” Stoddard Scheck, age 50, passed away on January 6, 2026, after battling multiple life-long health problems. Todd was born in Indianapolis, IN, to Charles Scheck and Katharine (Thoss) Scheck. Todd married Katrina (Vollmann) Scheck of Skokie, IL, on March 3, 2001.
He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and someone whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Todd loved music, sports including all Chicago teams, many college teams including the Fighting Illini (his dad’s alma mater), coaching, scouts, and teaching. Todd was a friendly, sensitive, kind and simple man who always had a smile on his face. He was amazing at retail sales and store management. As he grew with his sons, he got into substitute teaching, leading scouts, and coaching the boys baseball and soccer teams. He always was in the stands cheering on his sons in all their sport and band endeavors. Above all, he loved his family deeply. He was very proud of his son’s and wife’s accomplishments, and never wanted the focus to be on him. His strength, guidance, and love will continue to live on through those he leaves behind. Though he will be greatly missed, his legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness will never be forgotten.
Surviving are his wife, Katrina Scheck; sons, Jonathan, Nathaniel, and Timothy Scheck; mom Katharine Scheck; sisters Holly Scheck (Christopher-nephew), Heather (Steve) Graham; parent in-laws Richard and LeAnne Vollmann; sister-in-laws Felicia Pautsch and LeAnne Vollmann; aunts and uncles, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Springer Scheck and all Grandparents.
