Cheryl J. Schultz, 64, received the promise of eternal life on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. She was born in Milwaukee on July 29, 1957, daughter of the late Peter and Maryl “Vicki” (Née: Medlyn) Friedrich. Cheryl was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jay R. Schultz, on May 19, 1984, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

Cheryl received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marquette University. She worked as an R.N. for Froedtert Lutheran Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee and then for the Dermatology Clinic of Kenosha. After retiring from nursing, Cheryl continued her service to healthcare as a Chinese Herbal Therapist.

Cheryl was an avid reader and enjoyed authors such as JD Robb and Patricia Cornwell. She was a crafty person and often loved to paint and knit. Cheryl’s pets were important to her including her dogs, cats, bunnies, and guinea pigs just to name a few. Her family was of foremost importance to her, and she enjoyed spending time with all, especially her grandchildren.

Cheryl leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 37 years, Jay Schultz; son Patrick (Mindy) Schultz; grandchildren, Parker Schultz, Cora Schultz; brother, John (Carla) Friedrich; brothers-in-law, Robert (Jane) Schultz, Jr., Dr. Timothy (Kim) Schultz; nieces and nephews, Katie (Jake) Sheteron, Emily (Craig) Muehl, Kerrie (Cameron) Johnson, Matt Schultz, Emily Schultz, Andrew Schultz, Karly (Ryan) Schultz-Anderson, Conner Schultz; good friend, Mary (Fred Ortiz) Garnette-Hayes; best friend, Sue Ann (Ed) Emmerling; other relatives and friends too numerous to mention

In addition to her parents, Cheryl is preceded in death by her in-laws, Robert (Patricia “Patti”) Schultz.

A memorial celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, 7:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road. Dearest Aunt Cheryl,
I just wanted to tell you how much I miss you. I am also really sorry for making feel obligated to get me a typed writer one Christmas. If I had the chance I would take it back and wish on the pickle ornament instead. I would have wished to spend time with you instead. I am sorry for not being there at your funeral. I was living in my car at the time with my family. I was embarrassed and ashamed. I know you wouldn’t have cared but I really didn’t want to make it about me on the day I have to say goodbye to you. I don’t want to say goodbye. I still don’t. I think of you often along with Grandpa and Grandma. I wish I could have had the chance to paint with you. I miss your warm long hugs because whenever you hugged someone you really did hold on to them. I am a special Education teacher aid with three growing boys and counting my two cats, and puppy boys. I love you very much. I am still not saying goodbye but see you later.
