David Carl Straubel, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Ascension Healthcare in Racine, WI.

David was the son of Albert E. and Leone S. (Janecky) Straubel. David, or Dave as he preferred, was born on October 7, 1931 in Racine, WI. David graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine, WI in 1949. On June 22, 1963 after a stint in the Airforce spending time on Iwo Jima and in Japan, he married Jacqueline (Jackie) L. Theres of Racine. They enjoyed 61 years together, including multiple road trips to Las Vegas and other destinations that offered one arm bandits.  In the 1960’s David went to work with his father at Straubel Pattern Works in Racine and subsequently took over the business when Albert retired.  After selling his business in 1978, he was recruited by several employers over the years to apply his trade and do the work he loved.  When not at work, he enjoyed spending time in his yard planting and tending to his numerous vegetable gardens with Jackie.

David is survived by his wife Jackie; sons, Mark (Linda) Straubel and Tim Straubel, daughter, Michelle (Doug) Weber; grandchildren, Nicholas (Ashley) Weber, Andrew Weber, Peyton and David Straubel; great-grandchildren, Rilee and Noah Weber; nephews, Raymond Straubel, David Sheen and Stan Weiser and nieces Jill Peterson and Debra Horton. Testimonials

Our Memorial to “Mom”

Our family wants to thank Mike and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf for their compassion and caring in the death of our mother. They attended to every detail with such professionalism and made this difficult time so much easier by unburdening us of all that needs to be done with the arrangements. We all felt that there was nothing more they could have been done. It was perfect. We can now go forward with the memories that we hold in our hearts of mom and know that we provided the best possible service by choosing Draeger-Langendorf.
