Dolores J. Riekkoff

Service Details

A Memorial Service, celebrating her life, will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16th, at 6:00 p.m., with a longtime family friend, Rev. Richard J. Molter officiating.Visitation will be on Saturday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Dolores J. Riekkoff, 85, passed away, peacefully, in the Woods of Caledonia, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. She was born in Kenosha on August 18, 1933, the daughter of the late John and Margaret (nee: Papenak) Julian.

On October 17, 1953, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Norbert “Norb” Riekkoff who receded her in death on April 24, 2005. She and her husband founded and operated Riekkoff Overhead Doors up until her health prevented her from continuing. Dolores was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, and was an avid reader.

Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her three sons, Michael (Lynn) Riekkoff, Patrick Riekkoff, and David (Terri Hess) Riekkoff; grandchildren, Danny, Kristen, and Benjamin Riekkoff, Kayla (Chris) Countney, Jonathan (Lizz) Riekkoff, Brittany (Vince) Nierste, Joel Metzger, Ryan, Cory, and Eric (Nicole) Hess; great-granddaughter, Amelia Nierste; sisters; Karen (Bob) Kopesky, of Menomonee Falls, and Debra Julian, of Madison; brother John Julian, in Thailand; sister-in-law, Margaret “Maggie”Julian, of Atlanta. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Dolores was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Metzger; grandson, Jason Riekkoff; and sister, Judy Julian.
