Donna was the type of childhood and adult friend you think of and can do nothing but smile or burst out laughing thinking of things we did. Starting at Stephen Bull School. the great summers spent at Racine Street Playground and partying together as adults. I remember one day when an older guy was bullying some of us on the playground. He was actually to old to even be at the playground. Donna grabbed my hand and said “come on Lola.” We went to tell her mother what was happening. I still laugh when I remember how Mrs. Odem, Mrs. Holt and Davetta followed us back to the playground. Talk about end of problem. It gave new meaning to the term “mess with us now.” Donna, thank you for great memories and your friendship. Know that you are loved and will be greatly missed.

As I am scrolling through the entries for my sister Donna, I see what I already knew that she was loved and respected by many. We started out as sisters and remained sisters, but she eventually became my best friend. She was strong and I’ve always been weak in certain things, and I just pray there’s some of the things that she showed me can remain with me. I continue to pray for her children that they have strength to get through this trying time. I am going to miss her deeply but my faith and trust in the one and only true God it’s going to get me through this.

Dear family and friends, I’m very sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, many of people have experienced the death of a loved one. But there is hope at John 5:28, 29 where it says that all those in the memorial tombs will hear Jesus’ voice and come out. Yes, in the near future we will see our loved ones again resurrected back to life in perfect health here on earth. I hope this scripture brings you comfort.
