Racine – Dorothy H. (nee: Mulder) Catrine-Brezinski; age 76; passed away peacefully, surrounded with the love of family, at her home on Friday, May 8, 2015, following a courageous 2 ½ year battle with ovarian cancer.
Dorothy was born in Racine on March 13, 1939 to the late Ardeen and Florence (nee: Reynolds) Mulder.
She graduated from William Horlick High School in 1956. Dorothy retired from PDI (Printing Development Inc.) as an administrative secretary.
Among her interests, Dorothy enjoyed golfing – especially with her Ives Grove and Shoop women’s leagues; and, of course, with John. She was also an avid reader, talented seamstress, and was a Packer, Brewer & Badger fan. Above all, family meant the world to Dorothy and was happiest when in the surroundings of all of her loved ones.
Surviving are her sister, Jeanette (Glenn) Johnson; children, Cindy (Bill) Dupuis, Dianne (Steve) Paulson, Linda (Michael) Galovits, Laura Catrine and Steven (Stacy) Catrine; grandchildren, Christine (Joe) North, Jason (Katie) Dupuis, Jonathan (Nicole) Dupuis, Stephanie (Marty) Hoglund, Lindsay Gostisha; Jesse (Katie) Paulson; Sean, Kendra and Katelyn Catrine; Shannon, Abigail and Novalee Smith; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Brady, Bailey, Riley, Tyler, Carson, Sophie, Natalie, Graham, Elise and Scarlett; her “dearly beloved” companion of 18 years, John Horvath; many other dear relatives and close friends – too numerous to mention all by name.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Brezinski, Sr., of who passed away on December 4, 1984.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place. Memorial services celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. Memorials to “Froedtert Hospital Cancer Center” to the gynecologic/ovarian oncology department have been suggested.
A heartfelt note of thanks to Froedtert Hospital, Dr. Janet Rader & staff, as well as the wonderful staff at Heartland Hospice for the compassionate care and support given in Dorothy’s time of need. May God bless all of you!
