Glenter Jerome Banks, Sr.

October 1, 1962 – September 10, 2022

Racine – Glenter Jerome Banks, Sr., age 59, passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

Glenter was born in Waukegan, IL. At a young age, he was adopted by Ezra and Pearl (nee: Johnson) Banks. Glenter loved playing and watching basketball, enjoyed listening to music, his great sense of humor made people laugh, and he was quite the storyteller, even though he repeated a few of them. Glenter had quite the appetite, especially for his sister Angela’s rib tips! He loved the times he would go fishing with his sister, Carmen. Most of all, he loved his children, grandchildren and the rest of his family. He was a very caring person.

Glenter is survived by his father, Ezra, who he loved and Glenter was proud to call him Dad; his children, Sheba Garrett; Leonotdra Banks; Glenter, Jr. and G’Niyah Banks; grandchildren, Xavier Anderson, Raheem Garrett, Dedrick Carr, Jr. and Dairion Carr; Malasia and LaMirian Johnson, Delvion Walter, Ryhanna and Reginald Davis, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Prince Hercules and Jordyn Anderson, Kiliaih Washington and Mae’Lanil Oliver. Glenter will be missed by his brothers and sisters, Angela Fralin (Prentice); Carmen (Claude) Fisher; Garnett Betts (Ernest); Keith Betts; Mark, Moses and Erica Etinne.

He is further survived by aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

Glenter was preceded in death by his adopted mother, Pearl; his biological mother, Mozelle Marie Etinne; brother, Andre Massie; and niece, Gayit (Yama) Tenort-Franklin.

Service for Glenter will be on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 4:00PM at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 3:00PM until the time of the service.
