
Jack Q. Weaseman, 80, died unexpectedly at St. Mary’s Medical Center on Friday, May 26, 2006. Although a Racine resident since 1933, he was born in Kenosha on December 6, 1925, the son of the late Chester and Agnes (nee: Alaxson) Weaseman. He graduated from Washington Park High School. Jack served his country with the US Army Air Corps (Aviation Cadet Training) during WWII with Honorable Discharge in November of 1945. After serving his country, Jack was employed by Twin Disc for 32 years holding various positions before retiring in 1982. He was a longtime member of 1st Presbyterian Church where he served on various committees. Jack was an active member with the Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce. He was an Ambassador for the city from 1982 until his death. Jack served on the YMCA Building and Grounds Committee and also volunteered his time with The Racine Convention and Visitors Bureau. Jack loved aviation. He completed flight training and was a long-time member of both the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. In his free time Jack loved to make things. He enjoyed designing and constructing things out of wood, from cribbage boards and dollhouses to jewelry boxes and tools. His survivors include his children, David (Sally) Weaseman of Racine, Linda Weaseman of Hendersonville, TN and Janet (Scott) Slaughter of Sun Prairie, WI; grandchildren, Jill (Tom) Josepowitz, Eric Weaseman both of Racine, Andrew Weaseman of Hendersonville, TN, Andrei and Aruna Slaughter of Sun Prairie; great grandchildren, Kayli, Christina and Taylor Josepowitz; his former wife and mother of his children, Olga Johnson of Racine; brother-in-law, Art Hansen of Racine and other relatives and friends, including his Thursday morning breakfast buddies and YMCA friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lois and daughter Patricia. Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday evening for a visitation from 5-7 pm. A service celebrating Jack’s life will be held in the funeral home on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Steven Fringer officiating. There will also be a visitation in the funeral home on Friday morning from 9-10 a.m. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to one’s favorite charity.
