Service Details

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Jim’s 90th Birthday, Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:00 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery – Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday, August 9th, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm and in the church on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:00 am.

Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have been suggested.  

Racine, WI – James Thomas Jarosz, Sr., age 89, passed away peacefully at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, N.C. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

James was born in Racine, WI on August 10, 1934 to the late John P. and Agnes (nee: Boivin) Jarosz. He was a 1954 graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. He served our country with the United States Navy.

On May 24, 1958 in St. Edward Catholic Church, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Judith Rae (nee: Drury). Jim’s life was never the same after Judy passed away on January 30, 2013.

Jim was employed by Wisconsin Natural Gas Company for 46.5 years, retiring in 1999. He was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Years ago, Jim was active with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Among his interests, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most importantly, Jim was all about his family and loved traveling around the country to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, James Jarosz, Jr., Louise (James) Loendorf, Suzanne (Eduardo) Bosque and Pamela (Joshua) Barney; grandchildren, Scott Jarosz , Adam (Corynne ) Jarosz, Addison (Brittany) Loendorf,  Ashleigh (Zach) Lim,  Nathanial, Samuel and Benjamin Bosque,  Shelby Barney, and  Jesse (Valerie) Barney; great-grandchildren, Kinley Rae Loendorf and Caden James Loendorf; sisters, Evelyn “Molly” Babak and Dorothy Kilsdonk,  sister-in-law Anne Jarosz:  nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by brothers, Frank (Nancy) Jarosz, Sr.; Peter Jarosz and Edward Jarosz; sisters, Sister Paula Marie Roseanne Jarosz and Marion (Clifford) Jansen; brother-in-law, Wayne Kilsdonk; sister-in-law, Joanne (Kenneth) Ivanoski; Judy’s father, LeRoy Drury; Judy’s mother, Charlotte (nee: Gall & Drury) Boutell; and Judy’s stepfather, Russell Boutell.
