Jeanine M. Droen, affectionately known as Jeannie, age 72, died unexpectedly at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, on Saturday, July 31st, 2021. She was born in Sisseton, SD, on January 16, 1949, daughter of the late Alvin and Orda (Née: Hanson) Droen.

Jeanine graduated from Crookston High School in 1966. She went to college at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, where she studied Japanese and marketing. She worked as a real estate agent for 40+ years in Chicago, Illinois, and then Paddock Lake, Wisconsin, until she retired in 2012. Jeanine was also an interior designer for many years in the Chicago area. She loved all animals, especially cats. Jeanine always had 2-3 cats and fed many other cats that would come to her door. She also fed raccoons, squirrels and any other of God’s creatures that were hungry. Jeanine was a very happy person and loved sharing her contagious smile with others. She loved hanging out with family, visiting, and catching up on everyone with their busy lives. Even though Jeanine was born in Minnesota, she was a big fan of the Chicago Bears. In the 70-80’s, Jeanine did some interior design work for a few of the Bears player, so she was invited to several of the Bears events which she loved.

She is survived by her brother, Richard (Idella) Droen; nieces, Maggie (Jeffrey) Williams, Corrine (Darren) Mann, Kimberly Droen; great-niece, Megan Mann; great-nephews, Kristopher Mann, Nathan Williams, Noah Williams; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to her parents, Jeanine is preceded in death by her brother, David Droen; and nephew, James Droen.

A celebration of Jeanine’s life will be held on Saturday, August 28th, 11:00am, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, Mt Pleasant, WI 53403, with Rev. Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Many thanks to Bob and the staff of Draeger-Langendorf. This has been the hardest of times in my families lives and you were very attentive and helpful with all that needed to be done. The tribute that you created for my mother was beautiful and I shall not forget it. God bless all of you.
