Memorial Suggestions

In memory of Jesse, memorials can be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society – Racine Campus.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jesse Luis Gutierrez, age 91, on June 21, 2024, at North Point Senior Living in Kenosha.

Jesse was born in Texas on August 25, 1932 to Maximillian and Guadalupe (nee: Sabala) Gutierrez. Despite not completing formal education, Jesse dedicated himself to his work with great skill and passion. He will always be remembered for his hard work and dedication to his craft.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and fishing, and every summer, he traveled from Ohio to Racine with Amanda to celebrate his birthday. Jesse was a family-oriented man who cherished his dog “Pockets” and valued spending time with loved ones. His kindness and compassion were appreciated by all who knew him.

Survived by Patricia Amann, his significant other for the past 22 years with whom he found love again, daughter, Charlene Behrens, sisters, Olivia Ramos and Esther Gutierrez, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Maximillian and Guadalupe, wife, Amanda (nee: Behrens) Gutierrez, sister, Sally (Mike) Marquez, brothers, Ysidro (Adeline) Gutierrez and Maximillian Gutierrez, Jr. In honoring Jesse’s life, let us come together to celebrate the man he was and the legacy he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Brian and the rest of the staff, we just wanted to take a moment to thank you for handling every detail of our mom’s (Vera Miller’s) funeral so expeditiously and flawlessly. Being here in North Carolina, I was worried about getting mom back to WI which was her wish. All I had to do was make one phone call to your office and you seamlessly got her from Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC back to WI.

All of the arrangements were so impeccable; pictures, book for signing, flowers, thank you and acknowledgement cards, arrangements with Graceland Cemetery, and even playing our slideshow with music and photos, and getting it to loop properly.

You took so much worry off of me and my siblings by professionally stepping in and handling everything for us. I was going a little crazy thinking I had to do it all, but you helped so much that we just needed to share these thoughts and feelings with others. Thank you for everything,

– Vicky Coerper, Janice Miller, Kenny Miller and Monica Bailey
