Service Details

Services, with military honors, will take place on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (21731 Spring St. Union Grove, WI 53182). Please meet in the cemetery parking lot by 1:45 pm.

  

Racine – Joel Edward Brommer, age 61, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded with the love of family, early Monday morning, February 28, 2022.

Joel was born in Eau Claire, WI on November 17, 1960 to the late Carl and Cora (nee: Steinke) Brommer. A graduate of Washington Park High School, he went on to faithfully serve our country with the United States Army from 1981-84. On May 27, 2000, Joel was united in marriage with the love of his life, Terrie Ann (nee: McBride). Joel was a proud redi-mix concrete truck operator for Ozinga Redi-Mix.

Among Joel’s interests, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, motorcycles, video games, watching TV and was happiest while in the comfort of his own home. Above all, Joel loved spending times with all of his family.

Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Terrie Brommer; son, Matthew & Andrew Brommer; daughter, Tina Brommer; step-daughter, Christine Matkus; step-son, Joseph Laster; 12 grandchildren; sister, Debbie (Jim) Edwards; nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. In addition to his parents, Joel was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Williams; and by Terrie’s parents, Lawrance & Joan McBride.

Services, with military honors, will take place on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (21731 Spring St. Union Grove, WI 53182). Please meet in the cemetery parking lot by 1:45 pm.

    My heart goes out to Terrie and the family. Especially to Andrew, Tina, Matthew and the grandbabies. There is never enough time with those we love. I will keep you all in my prayers.

    Rest in Peace Joel. This November the first piece of birthday cake will be in your honour. Rest easy, we have the watch.

Words cannot even begin to express the tremendous gratitude our family has for a team like the one at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home & Crematory. Thank you for the gentle lovely care over our mother Delia (Rosa) Balderas. Never having had a direct experience with a funeral home to this extent we didnt know what to expect. We didnt have a clue that they would step right in and have the most comforting team surrounding us that thought of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING for anyone in our position. It was very evident from the first discussion on the phone that they were already well prepared to handle every little detail for us that we weren’t even aware would be required. Mark and his team truly eased so much of the unknown worries right out of our path, and left room for us to just focus on the small personal details we wanted for our mom. It was nice to know that all cost involved was in black and white on their site as well as on paper at our first meeting. Leaving no room for question or doubt what so ever with any fee involved. It was truly a blessing to have everything written out so well and simplified with various price range options in a time that we needed crystal clear direction. Its been beautiful to see that their care and service didnt stop after our mom’s service came to an end. They continue to be in communication with immediate responses as questions arise along the way. God bless Mark, and the entire compassionate team, to be around to guide many many more for generations to come through life’s most difficult times. You are all truly amazing.
