Service Details

The Mass of Christian Burial for Joe will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1425 Grove Avenue, Racine on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 10:00AM with Father Jose Mario officiating. Visitation will be at St. Edward on Thursday from 9:00AM until the time of Mass. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors.

Joseph “Joe” John Bever, age 95, passed away at Aurora Medical Center – Summit on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Joe was born in Fairchild, WI to the late Peter and Theresia (nee: Brandstedter) Bever. He went to faithfully serve our country with the United States Army in the Korean War. On September 10, 1960, Joe was united in marriage with Virginia Dax, who preceded him in death on October 27, 2013. He was employed with Young Radiator for over 40 years. Among his interests, Joe was active with the VFW and First Calvary; was a longtime, faithful member of St. Edward Catholic Church, being on the usher team and helping in many areas for the parish; spent many years as a volunteer with Toys for Tots; enjoyed doing handyman jobs around the house; and loved traveling with Virginia by car and organized bus trips.

Surviving are daughters, Debbie (Jim) Kania and Janice (Steve) Gorski; grandchildren, Jessica and Justin Erbe, Megan and Kyle Kania; former son-in-law, Jim Erbe; brother, Francis; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ralph; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, Virginia and parents, Peter and Theresia, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-laws, Leonard (Leona), Edward (Vivian), Roman (Bernice), Lawrence (Barbara), Ruth, Patrick (Betty), Peter (Bonnie); sisters and brother-in-law, Loretta (Clarence) and Beatrice.
