Service Details

A Committal Service for Joyce will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Racine on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 2:00pm with Chaplain Kevin Haworth as officiant. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery entrance by 1:45pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Joyce’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org/wi).

Joyce Grzonka-Krause, age 80, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Joyce was born in Oconto, WI to Lyle and Alvina (nee: Robison) Barribeau. Joyce attended Oconto High School and received her GED from Gateway Technical College in Racine. She was employed by Lincoln Lutheran Nursing Home in the housekeeping services department and loved spending time and being with the residents. Among her interests, Joyce loved trains, reading and crocheting. First and foremost, Joyce enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church when her children were in their early years. Joyce was an active member of various social circles at the senior living facilities of Lake Oaks and Parkview Gardens, and she enjoyed being with her friends in these groups.

Surviving are her children, Anna M. (Bart) Rouse, Sara Cherie (Jacob) Berns and John (Melissa) Grzonka; grandchildren, Brandon, Collin and Breann Rouse, Cash Berns and Parker Grzonka; great grandchildren, Olivia and Xavier Rouse; sister, Barb Barribeau. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Alvina; granddaughter, Alyssa Rouse; sister, Judy Osmon (Barribeau).
