Service Details
His Homegoing Service will be held on Friday, February 21st at 11:00 a.m. in JAM Church (Jesus Alive Ministries) 3011 Erie St. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.

Junior “Slick” Townsend, 83, of Racine, was called home by his Loving Savior on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. He was born, January 8, 1942, in Lee County MS to the late Fred and Emma (Woods) Townsend.
On April 22, 1976, he was united in marriage to Laura (Flora) Lee Jones. Junior was a faithful member of JAM Church (Jesus Alive Ministries). His witness encouraged several to convert.
Junior retired from Racine Steel Manufacturing. His hobbies included fishing, being a self- taught mechanic and an independent scrap metal contractor. He enjoyed watching karate, wrestling and westerns. Junior never denied help to those in need. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Cherel (Frederick) Hyatt and Alisa (Pastor Randy) Cameron all of Racine Wi; two sons, Tony Jones, of Racine Wi, and Douglas (Annie) Fitzpatrick, of Belden MS; numerous grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren; five sisters: Edith Gardner of Houlka MS, Lady D Townsend, Juanita (Thomas) Flanagan, Erie Oakley all of Racine Wi, Linda Faye Gipson of Lawton OK. His nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and special friends, Africatera Riley and Reggie Bell also survive him.
Junior was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Laura (Flora) Lee Townsend, mother, Emma Woods Townsend, father, Fred Townsend, son, Darnell Brumby and brother, Lealon Townsend.
