Laverne was a blessing to all who knew her. She was always willing to help anyone in need. As a member of the Allen family, I know that she selflessly assisted some of my younger siblings. I’m sure there is a special place for her in heaven. My prayers and condolences go out to her husband and family.

Mrs. Peppers was my third grade teacher at Gifford in the late 80’s and my daughter’s second grade reading teacher in 2006 at Jefferson Lighthouse. Long before her passing we agreed that she was our favorite teacher. And that is how she will always be remembered. Our condolences to the family. She really was a gift to this world.
