Lilah Haarsma, age 78 of the Town of Egg Harbor, peacefully passed away on February 12, 2024. She was born on September 16, 1945, in Merrill, Wisconsin, to the late Laverne and Florence (Lee) Miller.

In 1965, Lilah married the love of her life, Gary Haarsma, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years. Together, they raised two sons, Curt and Kevan. In 1988, Lilah and Gary founded G&H Siding and Windows, a business that became their shared passion. Lilah devoted 30 years of her life to Lincoln Lutheran, retiring in 2009.

A true family woman, Lilah cherished moments spent with her loved ones. She enjoyed the thrill of the casino, particularly favoring The Doggy Machine at Birmingham’s. Lilah and Gary’s shared love for fishing led to cherished annual winter trips to Florida. After building their dream home in Door County, Wisconsin, Lilah found joy in hosting her family, especially her grandchildren. She also took pleasure tending to her garden and savoring a good cocktail.

Lilah is survived by her sons, Curt (Jamie) Haarsma and Kevan Haarsma. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Mia Haarsma, Ty Haarsma, Dane Londre, Jonathan Ferrer, Max Crouch, Shae and Chase Callewaert. She is further survived by her younger sister, Bonnie Nutter; sister-in-law, Judy Bassinger; and Kriss (Jim) Larsen; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends, including Mark MaCabe, Kelly Burke, Brad Birmingham, Sally Henry, Todd and Nick Cater, and Nathan Stenzel.

Lilah was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary “Butch” Haarsma; her parents, Laverne “Bud” and Florence Miller; and older siblings Bob Miller and Betty Lindstrom.

Lilah’s warm spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved husband and cherished family members.

Deepest sympathies to the entire family.
So sad to loose another classmate. To never hear “which one? Lilah or Leila? We both had different names for the times. One of us at Mitchell the other at McKinley…we finally met at Park and both blondes, both about 5’5” who had fun saying, no, I’m the other one!
RIP Lilah, you’ll be missed by many….
