Linda Sue Starosta

Jun 30, 1950 – Apr 30, 2024

Service Details

There will be a private committal service for Linda at All Saints Cemetery in Pleasant Prairie.

Linda Sue Starosta was born in Chicago, IL on June 30th. Her parents were Lloyd, Sr. and Betty (nee Paulsen) Starosta. She had an older brother, Lloyd, Jr., a younger sister, Janet (nee Starosta) Christian, and a younger brother, Richard “Rick”. She moved to Waukegan at a young age and graduated from Waukegan High School. She earned an art scholarship and put it towards her studies at Northeastern University in Chicago, IL where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education as well as her teaching certification. She was a special education teacher for 30 years and taught primarily at the elementary school level. Linda did not marry, not for lack of suitors, but for the love of her mother and her own independence. She lived with and cared for her mother, until her mother’s passing, which made the bond between the two inseparable.

Linda enjoyed decorating her home, especially for all of the seasons and holidays. Linda also enjoyed antiquing, and shopping with her relatives, especially her sisters-in-law, Arlene (nee Robertson) Starosta and Katherine “Katie” (nee Zuzinec) Starosta and her two nephews Brady (16) and Ryan (11) Starosta, whom she adored and treated as her own. Linda also had a love of dogs, especially her beloved akitas, “Patches” and “Koko” and her pal “Olliwier” which she called, “Olli-bub”, “Bubby” or just “Bub”.

Linda courageously battled recent illnesses and can now rest in peace in heaven. She is surely pleased to be able to now spend her time with her beloved family members, especially her mother and father and her siblings, as well as others. Linda will be sorely missed by her closest family and friends and will never be forgotten.
