Lorraine Mahnke

Service Details

In keeping with her wish, a private service was held.

Lorraine “Laurie” Mahnke, 72, of Somers, passed away at her residence on Saturday, March 30, 2024. She was born in Racine on July 7, 1951, the daughter of Edward and Ada (nee: D’Acquisto) Scheuerman. Laurie was the office manager for Mohr-Jones for many years. On July 13, 1984 she was united in marriage to Gary Mahnke. She and Gary loved to travel and enjoyed their trips up to their son’s cabin in the North Woods. Surviving are her husband, Gary; two sons, Edward (Christine) Miller, of Somers, and Michael (Elizabeth) Mahnke, of Waterford; four grandchildren, Blair Miller, Annika Miller, Taylor Mahnke, and Grant Mahnke; sister, Patricia (John) Coulter, of Racine; and brother-in-law, Michael Donahue, of Racine. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Christine Donahue.

Laurie wanted to thank her husband, Gary, her sons Edward and Michael, their wives Christine and Elizabeth for their love and care. Everyone at the Ascension Cancer Center, and all her friends who came to visit her.

We want to thank Mike for the kindness and special attention he gave us for our mother. Marcella Conley. He came in the middle of the night himself to pick her up and take her to the funeral home. For the things that had to be taken care of, he told us not to worry; that it would be taken care of by him. Thank you also Mike for singing at her funeral, especially her favorite song, Amazing Grace. Thank you and all of your staff at Draeger-Langendorf.
