RACINE – Mark unexpectedly passed away at his home, February 15, 2024. He was born February 14, 1959, in Milwaukee and raised in Racine, WI, where he attended Case HS, Class of ‘77. He worked various jobs throughout his career and always made lasting friendships with whomever he worked.  A well-loved man, Mark enjoyed meeting new people from every facet of his life while maintaining old friendships from childhood.

Mark enjoyed his life in a carefree style. In his younger life, he was an avid bowler. More recently, you might have seen him riding his bike regularly downtown to play a few games of cribbage with his childhood friend.  He was also a fisherman, casting a rod in many of the northern WI lakes with his best friend.  He often made a ton of homemade beef jerky to share with everyone he knew… because it was so much healthier than potato chips.

Mark took pride in his ability to repair almost anything. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was helping friends move or renovating friends’ cabins up north.  He loved to be of service to RACO, so much that he created the volunteer hot line calling format which is still used today. He enjoyed his friendships through AA, which many were like family.

Mark was the jokester in the family.  He loved to make people laugh and was the “fun” uncle who spent hours playing with his nieces and nephews and later, as they got older, a mentor to them all.  He was very proud of all of them and cherished the time he spent with them.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Earl Schweissinger and Geraldine (nee: Domagalski) Dansan, his brothers Jeff and Ray, and his niece Lauren. He is survived by his siblings; Darrel (Linda), Sheryl (Laurie), and Glen (fiancé, Wendy); sister-in-law Donna; nephews Raymond Schweissinger, Jr., Jared and Joseph Schweissinger Riccobono; nieces Heather, Ashley, Taryn, Taylor Schweissinger, and Jenna Schweissinger Riccobono; and grandnieces Keira, Jordyn and Rylee; devout friends Larry Fuerstenau and Dane Martin.

Mark’s smile and fun-loving personality will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Monday, February 26th, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home.  Visitation from 3-5pm, followed by a ceremony.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Grove Club (1037 Grove Avenue, Racine, WI  53405).
