Service Details

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, MAY 20, 2023, (PLEASE NOTE DATE) for a visitation from 3-4 p.m.   

 

A service will follow at 4:00 p.m. and conclude with Military Honors.

MILWAUKEE – Percy Tye completed his earthly journey on Thursday April 20, 2023 at Clement J. Zablocki Veteran Affairs Medical Center.

He was born in Elane, Arkansas to Victoria and Benjamin Tye Sr. After high school graduation, he moved to Chicago until he joined the military in 1961. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran.

Percy moved to Wisconsin in 1966 with his family where he worked at P.D.I. -Printing Developing Inc. Percy lived in Newport, Arkansas for many years until he moved back to Racine and then Milwaukee where he remained until his passing.

Percy leaves to cherish his memory his wife Johnnie Mae, children Tyrone of Wheaton, Illinois, Veronica(Andre), Monica, and Maurice all of Racine; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews along with his special niece and caregiver, Yvonne(Maxwell) of Milwaukee.  He was preceded in death by his son, Reginald C. Tye, his brothers, Benjamin Tye, Jr., Sterling Tye, and sisters Mary, Sarah, and Beatrice
