RACINE – Rick “Gundy” Bodi, 62, passed away unexpectedly at Ascension All Saints on Thursday, March 3, 2022.

A lifelong resident of Racine, Rick was born on June 1, 1959, the son of the late Robert Lewis and Margaret Virginia (nee Noe) Bodi.  He graduated from JI Case High School.

On March 6, 1981, he married Susan E. Kaldenberger.

Rick worked as a machinist/assembler for various companies, including Specialty Machining, Modern Machine, Twin Disc, Racine Railroad Products and Multi Products.  He retired from Eaton Cooper Power System in 2019.

An avid outdoorsman, Rick loved fishing.  He was a grill master and enjoyed cooking and feeding his family and friends.  He also found pleasure feeding the birds in his backyard, especially when the cardinals visited.  He enjoyed political conversation and debates, as well as cheering for the Minnesota Vikings.  However, Rick was happiest in the company of his family.

In addition to his loving wife Sue, he is survived by his daughters, Gwen (James Bausch) Bodi and Renee (Chris Roushia) Bodi; his grandchildren, Madison, Phoebe, Lorelei “Light”, Zaine, Zelena “ZZ”, Brooke and Bree; his brothers and sister, Ken (Debbie) Bodi, Tom (Kathy) Bodi, Sue (Bill) Howland, David (Heidi Mayer) Bodi; his mother-in-law, Sharon Kaldenberger, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lori (Steve) Szabo, Jake (Elizabeth Hamilton) Kaldenberger, Kathy (Steve) Morgan, Pat (Deb Burge) Kaldenberger, and Amy Hughes; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.  Rick was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Bodi and brother, Ray Bodi.

Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, March 10, 2022, for a visitation from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.  A service honoring and remembering his life will follow at 6:00 p.m. You may watch the service via livestream by clicking on this link at 6:00 p.m. https://youtu.be/Rh-29GT_o9I    Memorials have been suggested to the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin  https://www.assew.org/.
