KENOSHA – Rick Noland Cate, age 67, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully in his sleep, while up at their cabin in Rhinelander, WI on Monday, May 20, 2019 and is now rejoicing in the presence of his Creator and Savior.

Born in Enid, Oklahoma, Rick has resided in Kenosha since age 4. A graduate of Tremper High School, he faithfully served our country with the U.S. Army National Guard from 1983 – 1992. On December 7, 1991 at Temple Baptist Church – Kenosha, he was united in marriage with Linda M. (Desideri) Kuehnl.

Rick was employed by Snap-On Inc. and by Kenosha County and retired in 2017. He was an active member of Missio Dei Fellowship. Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, was a master of tinkering and loved spending time in the Northwoods at his cabin, especially exploring on his ATV and birdwatching with his wife. Rick was known as the “go-to guy” who always dropped everything to help those in need; he had a true servant’s heart. Rick loved his Lord Jesus Christ, family & friends and had a special affection for the elderly and little ones.

Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 28 years, Linda; his mother, Anita (nee: Hubbell) Cate; children, Sara (Dr. Edward) Smith, Amy Edwards and Phil ( Jomjam Monthida) Kuehnl; grandchildren Skye, Kat, Alex, Colvin, Chuck, Sydney, Cameron & Stryker; great-grandson, Leon; brother, Curtis (Linda) Cate; sisters, Pamela Sinozich and Amber (Dan) Swanson; nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family & friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Noland Richard Cate; and beloved sons, Gene Cate and Christian Kuehnl.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Missio Dei Fellowship Church (5214 – 47th Avenue in Kenosha) with Pastor Matt Henry officiating. Visitation will be at Missio Dei Church on Saturday from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Missio Dei Fellowship “Mission Fund” have been suggested.

Testimonials

May 22, 2019

We recently used Draeger-Langendorf’s services for my grandmothers funeral and we are so thankful for Mike and the rest of the staffs help. They made the whole process easy and never urged us to make a certain choice. They were very informative of how the service was going to go and always made sure we knew what was going on. To our surprise Mike Langendorf was there singing in the choir during the funeral and it really made us feel like he truly cared about us. Such a fantastic singing voice! Amazing people to have helping plan during a hard time, would highly recommend.
