Racine – Robert “Bob” O. Jarstad, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Robert was born on March 16, 1947, in Racine. He was the beloved son of Marvin and Anne Jarstad and the loving husband of 56 years to the late Barbara A. Jarstad, who preceded him in death in 2023. Together they built a strong and loving family and shared a deep, lifelong bond.

He was the proud father of five: Sandy Canaday (Al), Terri (Jim) Thurmann, Brian Jarstad, Kevin Jarstad, and Michael (Nicole) Jarstad. He was also a cherished grandfather to Robert Jarstad, Jennifer (Chris) Ottaway, Shawn Lynn (Sarah), Nicholas Jarstad, Amber (Elexis) Ramon, Cody Jarstad, Alaina and Lacey Jarstad, Mikayla, Tyler and Addison Jarstad; and great-grandfather to Jordan, Aiden, Dylan, Kaydence, Kaylee, Logan, and Kole.

He was employed at Case, American Motors, and Chrysler, retiring in 2002 after 35 years. Robert worked hard throughout his life and always put his family first. He was known for his quiet strength, sharp sense of humor, and deep devotion to those he loved. He enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, repairing anything, scraping, storytelling and was someone others turned to for wisdom and support.

He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his Parents Marvin and Anne; Wife Barbara; Grandson Jacob Canaday; Brothers Richard, Seno and Timothy; Sister Alice.

Testimonials

December 22, 2016

Thank you so much for your staff’s gentle, patient, and thorough management of my nephew’s memorial service yesterday. It was run to perfection, and we couldn’t be more pleased. From the beautiful slide show transitions to the quality audio system to the easels, pedestals and Kringle…all details were impeccable and appreciated.
