Sabrina Moten

Aug 7, 1966 – Jul 26, 2021

Service Details

Sabrina’s Homegoing Memorial  service will beheld in the chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. There will be a visitation for family and friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Homegoing Service.

Sabrina Moten was born August 7, 1966, to the union of Gaylor & Lillie B. (Wilson) Coleman in Atlanta, GA. She passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Sweet Pea got her nick name from her father. She was a natural comedian, and being around her was never a dull moment, because if anybody was feeling sad or in a down mood, she would make their day better. She loved to make people laugh and was good at creating new words. She enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid card player, prepared delicious meals for her family and friends, and enjoyed ole school music. Her favorite gospel song was by Donnie McClurkin, “We Fall Down, But We Get Up.”

On December 16, 1983, Sabrina (Sweet Pea) was joined in marriage to Johnathon (Piggy) Moten, the love of her life, and their union was blessed with 2 children, Ranitta Coleman and Shawndreka Moten-Peters.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved husband, Johnathon Moten; daughters, Shawndreka & (DaVante) Peters, Octavia (Renee) Massey, Johnathan Moten Jr; four grandchildren, Demond Marks Jr., Qunidarian Moten, Saniyah Boswell, Sabrina B. Griffin of Toledo OH, D’Avion Powell, Claveese Williams, Kevin Massey, Jr. of Racine WI; siblings, Bobbie Wilson, Gaylor Coleman Jr., Della Coleman, Renee Coleman, and many other relatives and friends too numerous to name.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Ranitta Coleman; parents, Gaylor and Lillie B Coleman; sisters, Teresa Turntime and Carlitha Coleman of Toledo, OH; grandparents, Elnora Jones, Idella Wilson-Hunter, and her in-laws, Robert (Champ) & Elmetta Kelly.

Testimonials

March 13, 2025

Thank you so very much for the exemplary care that you provided for both our mom and dad. Your family is extremely kind and exudes much empathy towards others. You and your staff display much professionalism with great talent and attention to detail. Mom and dad were always very particular in their appearance. Mom would say, You are leaving a lasting impression of yourself with someone to remember you by. Your parents taught you boys well; be very proud of that! Love on them, as death is so very permanent.

Holly and I are officially orphans now. It is people like your family and David Huck being there for us, that bring comfort when you are going through one of the most difficult challenges life throws at you.

I thank God every day for our Ostergaard family and will always cherish the memories.

Love you,

Jody Burlingame Wagner
