Kenosha– Wayne Anthony Baltes, age 70, passed away peacefully at home early Monday, August 5, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.

Wayne was born in Kenosha on June 28, 1949 to the late Carl E. and Mildred M. Baltes. He graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1967. On August 19, 1972 in St. George Catholic Church, Wayne was united in marriage with the love of his life, Teresa “Terry” Lee (nee: Kelleher) Baltes. Also, after a long battle with cancer, Terry sadly passed away on February 4, 2018.

Wayne was employed by Ace Hardware (75th Street) from 1967 until its closure in 1995 …when he went to work for Woodman’s Market until he retired in 2008. Among his interests, Wayne enjoyed softball, golf, football, bowling, gambling, fishing & cooking (proudly sharing his best creations with family & friends). Above all, Wayne was all about his family and treasured the simple times spent with them.

Surviving are his daughter & son-in-law, Jennifer & James Bezotte; adored grandchildren, Kennedy Hohmeier & Chelsea Bezotte; sister, Mary (Raud) Wilke; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Jackie Baltes, Mary Beth (Alex) Lindqvist, Patsy (Peter) Fanduzzi, Kathy (Ronald) Conforti, Verda Wolf, Bryant (JoJo) Kelleher; many special nieces, nephews, & friends. In addition to his parents & wife, Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Baltes; nephew, James Baltes; and by Terry’s parents, Vivian & Helen Kelleher.

A casual memorial service celebrating Wayne’s life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 5:30 pm. A memorial dinner will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the family would be greatly appreciated.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

Mike,
Words cannot adequately convey our gratitude for all you did to honor our family member and friend, Mert Fleury. Like with her husband Ray, years ago, you and your staff went above and beyond to help us through this difficult time and to give Mert a wonderful celebration of her life. Every detail was considered, all of our requests were given unfailing attention, and the little extras took our breath away. Every sad feeling and every tear was matched two-fold with feelings of gratitude and comfort because of what you did. We will be forever grateful!
The Fleury Family

David Fleury
