Linda Renate Northard

Aug 28, 1955 – Sep 27, 2007

Racine- Linda Renate (nee: Cruz) Northard, 52, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 27, 2007. A lifetime resident, Linda was born in Racine on August 28, 1955 to Frank and Joan (nee: Rasmussen) Cruz. She graduate from JI Case High School in 1973. On August 25, 1979 at Wustum Museum, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, David L. Northard. Linda had been employed by The Hub, Elmwood and Chartroom Restaurants until being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 20 years ago. She enjoyed working in her yard especially flower gardening. Linda also liked to travel – Florida , Mexico and Caribbean were her favorite places. Above all, she loved and cherished being in the surroundings of her entire family. Surviving are her loving husband, David; son, David (Michelle) Cruz Northard; grandchildren, Seth Nelson and Auryn Northard; her parents, Frank and Joan Cruz; brother, Frank Cruz; sisters, Kathleen (Todd) Strangberg and Carol Cruz; in-laws, Lloyd and Marilyn Northard; sister-in-law, Amy (Joe) Korbel; brothers-in-law, Todd, Scott (Jackie), Peter (Lynn) and Eric (Nancy) Northard; best friend, Patti (Bruce) Weiher; and by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In accordance with Linda’s wishes, cremation will take place. There will be time to gather with Linda’s family in the funeral home on Saturday, September 29, 2007 from 11 am – 1 pm. Services and interment will be private. A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Douglas Puffer and staff; to Vitas Hospice; and to our devoted family and friends for the overwhelming care and support extended to Linda over the past several months. Your kindness will always be remembered.

    Dave and family, we are so, so sorry to hear about Linda’s passing. She was a wonderful person, great smile, happy laugh. She will be missed. Wish we could be there with you at this time.     Dave,

    I always looked forward to hearing Linda would be at Patti’s when I was visiting or meeting Patti out. She was a very special person who truly cared about everyone. Not to mention a great pool player and a lot of fun!!!

    She will NEVER be forgotten!!

    You are a very special person and one of the best men I have ever met. Enjoy your grandson and live life to the fullest!
